SURVEY TYPES
Six surveys we carry out
Different decisions need different surveys. Tell us the decision you are making and we will scope the inspection to match it.
Pre-Purchase & Condition Survey
A full assessment of the vessel’s actual condition before you commit — hull, machinery, and documentation, reported with photographs and findings.
- Hull & structure condition
- Machinery & engine room
- Documentation review
- Repair cost indication
On-Hire / Off-Hire Survey
Independent condition and bunker survey at delivery and redelivery, so both parties agree on the vessel’s state and the fuel figures on the day.
- Bunker quantity & sampling
- On-board condition record
- ROB (remaining on board)
- Delivery / redelivery statement
Damage & Insurance Claim Survey
Damage assessment and supporting evidence for insurance claims — documented so the claim stands up to scrutiny by underwriters and surveyors.
- Damage extent assessment
- Cause & sequence review
- Photo evidence record
- Claim documentation support
Statutory & Class Compliance
Verification against the regulations your vessel must satisfy — statutory certificates, class requirements, and management-system compliance.
- ISM / ISPS / MLC 2006
- Certificate validity check
- Class requirement review
- Gap & finding list
Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement
Hull and structural steel thickness measurement to establish actual steel condition — the objective data behind repair and renewal decisions.
- Hull plating measurement
- Structural member gauging
- Wastage mapping
- Renewal recommendation
Draft & Cargo Survey
Draft survey for cargo quantity determination and cargo condition assessment — independently verified figures for the parties involved.
- Draft reading & calculation
- Cargo quantity verification
- Cargo condition check
- Statement of facts

QUESTIONS
Survey FAQ
A surveyor attends the vessel — at berth, anchorage, or yard — on the agreed date. For vessels in Indonesian waters we are usually able to attend within days of instruction, depending on location and vessel readiness.
We work for whoever instructs us, and the report is prepared for that party. Where a joint survey is requested we attend on behalf of both interests and record findings jointly.
Every report includes an executive summary, a numbered photographic record, a findings register with severity and recommendations, the measurement data taken during attendance, and compliance notes where applicable.
Yes. Dry-dock attendance allows inspection of areas normally underwater, and is the most productive time for hull and structure assessment — including thickness measurement and coating condition review.
Underwater inspection and cleaning is available as a related service through our technical division, and findings can be incorporated into the survey report where relevant.
Send the vessel particulars, the type of survey required, the location, and your timing. You will receive a scope of work and quotation before attendance is confirmed.
